Turbo Timer TIME!!!!

Yes I finally purchased my turbo timer for the SUPRA! The turbo timer keeps the car running after you turn it off and pull the key. A turbocharger is cooled only when the engine is running. After racing the engine for extended periods of time the turbocharger gets very hot, cutting its cooling lines can cause damage. The timer wont let you change the car's gear, so you need the key in it to drive. Mine is made by GREDDY. I bought it used with the harness! Even has a mount for a POST 89 Model Supra! The harness is really good, it has a relay patched right into it! I REALLY like this idea. It seems I can make it expandable for whatever ignition needs I may have.

It's a small box with an LCD Display showing minutes and seconds, it has three buttons; power, select, and time. I am not too certain of all the features yet since it is not installed. It is small and easy to place anywhere... It will most likely be fitted under the steering column or somewhere close to the location of the key.

The harness/relay... Its quite large. I think I will have minimal problems installing this. It is quite straight forward. I can run the relay to w/e i want, switches, lights, alarm, etc... I have to mess around with it for a bit, but should have no issues.

Tomorrow I get to installing this item. I will take pix and blog about that process...

My work at home...

We have decided to do a comedical webshow on youtube.com to lighten up all this stressful car work.

This show follows cousin josh, robbie, and cousin matt. Robbie has various adventures while trying to find Dom Toretto and helping Josh build a supra that will one day possibly beat Dom. Matt is just a cool kid who is kind of tired, of Robbie, but still goes along with his antics from time to time.

Youtube channel is here

Please subscribe and help robbie out as much as possible.

Cooling System Woes...

Well after the install of the radiator, thermostat and hose, I figured I was good to go. Check this out!!

Yes it's a popped hose, with tape around it. I turned the car off, put a lil tape on it and restarted, to make sure that was the only thing popped. Taping hoses is bad and can lead to other problems.

This hose goes from the valve cover to the firewall. The firewall has a little heater valve, that connects this hose and a hose to the heater core inside the car. That allows the heater to work. As soon as coolant spewed out my heater got cold and told me there was a cooling issue.

You can get a better look from this view, if you cant find the tape, look at the bottom of the blue air filter, follow it up till u hit the chrome trim, go right passed the wires, then you will see the hose.

This is the actual valve it connects too, i am unsure about this part, and the picture as well.

What I did was not a smart thing, but I needed a temporary fix. I took off this hose taped it up really good so the little hole couldn't leak. After this I put it back on started to bleed the coolant system. Using the bleeder bolt.... Well OK IT BROKE! I was so sad. I had to use QUICKSTEEL and epoxy putty it back on. that is a temporary fix as i wait for the replacement part.

I have to zoom in on the bolt, for a good shot. I will get it asap.
